I've never been the biggest fan of the rain, and if you'd ask me when I lived in Seattle I would never take "advantage" of the rain to go and do something. However, In los angeles it's one of the few times weather allows you to go do something a bit more in the touristy realm without all the tourists and traffic.
So, naturally, i became a tourist in my own city for a moment.
i ditched class, grabbed my camera, and a new lens i have been wanting to try out, and made my way into los feliz. traffic (on the way there) was minimal, the rain was light, and i was listening to bon iver. the vibes were immaculate.
you could see the hollywood sign, the los angeles skyline, and most importantly – take photos without too really any people in them. honestly, i think i was there for an hour and a half and saw maybe five other people. honestly, it was a dream.
did i get soaking wet? yes. would i do it again? absolutely.
the lens i used was the pocketdispo lens, which is made to mimic film/disposable cameras. i attached it to my canon 80d camera body. I think it creates such a dreamy and nostalgic essence to the photos. super excited to keep using it!
