Hey, my name is Annaleise Morrison

I am a freelance - documentary style photographer based in Southern California. My love for photography comes from a passion for the arts, storytelling, and capturing precious and real moments that can last forever. It's my goal to make every session feel easy, relaxed, and true to you. Which is why I prioritize connecting with you and getting to know you and your story so that I can capture it as authentically as possible. But before I get the honor of documenting your life, it only feels right to share a little bit of mine

From humble beginnings.
how i found my love for photography and the arts.
My love for the arts began long before I even realized it. I grew up in a home filled with music—my parents were both deeply woven into the music scenes of Las Vegas, where I was born, and later Seattle, where I spent the second half of my childhood. Creativity wasn’t just encouraged in my family… it was part of our everyday rhythm. Looking back, I think that constant hum of artistry is what planted the first seeds for the way I see the world now.
As a kid, I was the one always running around with a camera in my hand. Disposable cameras, tiny digital cameras—if it could take a picture, I was using it. I photographed everything I thought was beautiful or important or special… even if it didn’t make sense to anyone else. Once, I filled an entire disposable camera documenting my childhood room, the street I lived on, and our backyard gate. It probably made my dad laugh when he picked up those prints at Costco, but to me, they were memories worth keeping.
My love for photography deepened in 7th grade when my grandma gave me my late Papa Bear’s Nikon D3300 for my birthday. That camera felt like a piece of him—like I was carrying on something he cared about. From then on, I poured myself into learning, taking photography classes in middle school, photographing my high school track & cross country team, and even capturing my friends’ graduation photos during 2020 when the world felt distant and uncertain. Photography became my way of staying connected, of holding onto moments that felt fragile and fleeting.
In college, I studied film and graphic design, and doors began to open in ways that felt like little confirmations that I was on the right path. One of the biggest blessings was working as a photographer at Forest Home Christian Camps. It was there that I grew into my own—finding my confidence, discovering my style, and learning how meaningful it is to capture moments that matter to people.
Since then, I’ve been honored to work as a freelance photographer, documenting everything from quiet adventures in the mountains to the joy and emotion of beautiful weddings. Every story I get to capture feels like another thread woven into this journey I love so deeply.
I’m still at the beginning of this path, but I’m grateful—so grateful—for every step, every person, and every memory I’ve had the privilege to preserve. And I can’t wait to see where this passion leads next.

"Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything."
